That vocal fry he does is powerful and crazy impressive. Done incorrectly is a great way to strain or damage vocal cords. He is a highly trained vocalist with an amazing voice.

If one pays attention to the lyrics, all Black Sabbath and Ozzy, you'll see that they put out earnings. Children of the Sea is much of world disaster, but also our own self disaster.

Don't watch just the top runners: sometimes songs with great musical quality are in the bottom because people masses tend to vote mostly in pop or the most fun (not always the best song wins). There are also some metal/rock/folk competing but unfurtunaly they should not pass the semi-finals due to popular vote. The great thing about Eurovision is that many songs are in the native country styles/languages, showing different vibes outside of our mainstream audio, or they are just pure joke/fun (Finland is king).

Check out Falling Of The Edge Of The World from Mob Rules. A phenomenal song with many layers.

Please check out Black Sabbath - When Death Calls! You need to listen to the Tony Martin era Black Sabbath which is much darker than the rest of their music. He is such an underrated singer. This song even has a guest solo from Brian May of Queen!

Great song, one of my favorites of Dio's era in Black Sabbath! I don't know if you considered those songs for Earth Day, but "Mother Earth" and "Ice Queen" from Within Temptation fit perfectly and also a great intro to this band.

I forgot how good this song was. Dio is a legend (also sang "Butterfly Waltz", a Roger Glover song (the bass player of Deep Purple). Its flats coz he is most probably playing guitar detuend to Eb

I grew up with Ozzy era Black Sabbath and never caught on the Dio albums even though I've bought every BS album through the years. I can't fault this but they became another band with Dio. His smooth vocals was such a contrast to Ozzys raw and piercing vocals. Listening now i think its quite good.

Just look around you, everything you have is made from Fossil Fuels. If you stop producing Fossil Fuels none of that will ever be made again. Solar Generating panels, Wind powered Generators, and even Nuclear Power Plants, all can produce energy but none can be used to make things that the common people take for granted. Take those glasses you're wearing Doug, you can't make those without Fossil Fuels because they're made from plastic and where do you think plastic comes from? Certainly not from a Solar Panels or Wind Generators. No more Vinyl records, no more electronics in which to play them etc., etc.. The United States is the most compliant Country regarding our emissions into the Atmosphere. Not until you can convince all of Asia and the poorer countries of South America to clean up their output of dirty emissions will there be a reversal, and I don't see that happening anytime soon nor in my lifetime.

I get the impression you are not listening beyond identifying the chords which most of us know. It's like telling us what colours are in the Mona Lisa We are supposed to be appreciating the music, not your ear, or your ability to mime drums you haven't heard before.

The reason the crowd is behind is simply due to the time it takes for the sound to travel into the crowd; they clap when the beat gets to them and then that sound has to make it back to the stage mics. The math is pretty simple if you put in some ballpark figures for the distances.

I just hope you'll be having a listen at Tony Martin era Sabbath. His vocals are alomst as good as Dio's. Certainly a much better singer than Ozzy!
